Intercultural opening of the administration
The Municipal Integration Center Cologne is working to make the city administration more open and fair for all people in Cologne - regardless of their origin, culture or religion. All Cologne residents should have the same opportunities, be able to have a say and be seen.
To ensure that all people have equal access to municipal services, the administration wants to better adapt to the diversity of our urban society. It is important for us to clearly oppose racism and anti-Semitism.
The objectives of the intercultural opening of the administration are:
- The migration society and the influence of racism and anti-Semitism are taken into account in all areas of the city administration.
- Employees of the City of Cologne receive training on diversity, discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism.
- Cooperation with migrant organizations is strengthened.
- Employees with an international family history are represented in all areas and at all levels of the city administration.
- Employees with an international family history can make new contacts and develop professionally as part of the MOSAIK network.
- Important memorial and public holidays are observed, for example the commemoration of the attacks in Halle in 2019 and Hanau in 2020.
- Dealing with racist and anti-Semitic discrimination will be improved.
- Barriers to accessing urban services are removed.
- Multilingualism is recognized and promoted as a strength.
