Workshop “Disability in the context of migration and flight”

Warm invitation to the workshop „Disability in the context of migration and flight – A change of perspective for a discrimination-sensitive support of children with disabilities and their families in the school day“ !

The workshop provides insight into the intersection of disability and migration or flight, and shows how different forms of discrimination affect educational opportunities and participation.

In addition to various models of disability, the development of the disability rights movement as well as the importance and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) are also taken into account.

Furthermore, the interaction between Ableism and racism is discussed as a real-life phenomenon in many families.

Furthermore, the workshop provides a space for exchange regarding the sensitive handling of discrimination and collaboration with children and families in the school context – for example in lessons, in parent meetings, and in counseling situations.

Speakers: Ira Vogt and Lena Ingenhaag (Self-determined Living Competence Center)

Target group: Teachers and school social workers from primary schools, secondary schools and vocational colleges.
