Workshop “Experiential learning with a Jewish-German descendant” - Experiential learning with a Jewish-German descendant”

In times of growing anti-Semitism teachers are challenged to enable their students to recognize connections between the present and historical events of the Nazi era, which they have not lived through. While lecture and lessons are essential, exper-tial learning leads to more personal involvement of the students and encourages them, to take influence in today`s society and get actively involved.

Whether offered in history, language, or art classes, experiential learning is a vital tool for stimulating curiosity, cultivating reflection, empathy, and team spirit, and strength-ening critical thinking in students of all ages. You'll participate in the same program offered in the classroom and explore ways to adapt it and other learning tools to your students’ needs. The workshop will be in Eng-lish, however participants may speak German in their small groups.

Teaching is essential, but experiential learning leads to students being more personally affected and encourages them to get involved in shaping the world they want to see.
