Intercultural parental work
Intercultural parent work means that people from different countries work together - for example parents, teachers and school social workers. Parents should feel well understood and be able to have a say - regardless of which language they speak and where they come from.
The point is:
- Building trust
 - respect cultural differences
 - support the child together

For example, the Intercultural Service offers discussion groups and meetings in family cafés. You can find out about the services in your district directly from the colleagues.
The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia wants to strengthen the work with fathers in the municipal integration centers (KI). The Cologne Municipal Integration Center therefore supports fathers' groups in Cologne. The aim is also to show how important fathers are as role models for their children. Mentors from the KI prepare the leaders of these groups. The project is still in its infancy and more detailed information will be available here soon.
